Do you want to be part of a newly established team, looking at working with families in an innovative way? Working across family support, health and social care with opportunities to develop new skills and take a lead in specific area of work within the team, with support offered by a range of specialist staff. You will be supporting families and children within their own homes and within group settings.
You will:-
· Be a Registered General Nurse
· Or an NNEB or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant area (or equivalent) with a minimum two years post qualification experience
· Have at least two years experience of working with families.
· Have good communication skills and the ability to work with people in a variety of settings.
· Have good conversational skills in Urdu/Punjabi (Bi-lingual post only)

Do you have good English and Punjabi and Pahari? Would you be interested in a part time job? Oldham community dental service with Glodwick, St Mary’s and Higginshaw Sure Start are looking for someone to advise parents of young children in Glodwick, St Mary’s and Higginshaw on infant feeding, care of their children’s teeth and other related health issues.
The job will include visiting parents of young children in their own homes to advise them on infant feeding and care of their children’s teeth and working with community-based groups and networks to improve parents knowledge and skills about health, nutrition and oral care. You would form part of the Sure Start team responsible to the Infant Feeding Specialist. You would be required to work in Glodwick, St Mary’s and Higginshaw and would need to be able to travel efficiently within these areas.
You do not need experience. We will train you to carry out the work. What is important is that you are interested in improving children’s dental health. You will need a good knowledge and understanding of the needs of the local community, including the local Pakistani community. You should also have experience of childcare and be well presented.
Applications are particularly invited from parents of young children living in the Glodwick, St Mary’s and Higginshaw areas.
You will have to be flexible in when you can work in order to fit in t the demands of the job.

Community Mental Health Nurse

SureStart Glodwick, St Mary’s and Higginshaw is a new SureStart, located across three culturally diverse areas of Oldham. SureStart via its local programmes is a key part of the Governments strategy for reducing poverty and the effects of poverty on children aged 0 – 4 and their families.
We are looking to appoint an experienced practitioner who will be responsible for the development and delivery of a mental health assessment and liaison service for SureStart to increase the capacity and capability of the SureStart team to respond effectively to the needs of people with mental health needs and their families and to improve communication between secondary and primary care services and other tier one workers working in partnership with SureStart. You will support colleagues to deliver services, looking to reduce risk factors with regard to mental health, adopting a preventative model of working.
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of two years at Grade ‘E’ or above, experience of working within the community and the ability to support and advise other team members in their work.
